Profile: 

Alex is a partner and our Head of German Desk with extensive experience in advising owner-managed businesses, primarily from German-speaking countries, on international expansion projects. Throughout his career he worked for accountancy practices in Berlin, New York City, and London, and has become a leading expert in advising businesses and individuals from German-speaking companies with business interests in the UK.

Recognised as an international tax expert, Alex is a frequent speaker at conferences, gives interviews on radio and television, and contributes to leading publications such as the Financial Times, Sky News, or the BBC. He is also a co-author of the well-established international tax law commentary Mennel/Förster, published by NWB. He serves as an expert witness in international tax litigation cases for the German courts, particularly in disputes between Germany and the UK.

Alex is a fellow at the Institute of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). He earned his Bachelor’s degree at the Berlin School of Economics and Law, and holds a Master’s in International Tax Law (LL.M. in Tax Law) from Queen Mary University of London.

Personal:

In his spare time Alex enjoys playing the piano, skiing and an occasional round of golf. He is an avid Tottenham Hotspurs football supporter and regularly visits home games.
