Profile:

James qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2015 and joined Lubbock Fine in 2016. He is a Partner and Co-Head of the firm's Business Services Department, where he plays a key role in leading one of the firm's core service lines and supporting the continued development of its people, clients, and relationships.

In addition to his departmental leadership responsibilities, James heads Lubbock Fine's USA Desk, the firm's dedicated service offering for US businesses operating and expanding into the UK. Working closely with clients and professional advisers he helps businesses navigate the financial, regulatory, and operational challenges associated with cross-border growth and investment.

James works with a diverse portfolio of clients across the technology, investment funds, and property sectors, with particular expertise in supporting internationally active businesses. He has extensive experience managing UK reporting requirements for international groups and regularly acts as the key point of contact between UK operations and parent companies across North America and Europe, ensuring financial reporting and compliance obligations are delivered efficiently and in line with group requirements.

Beyond statutory reporting and compliance, James serves as a trusted adviser on a broad range of accounting and finance matters. His experience includes cash flow forecasting, finance function and process reviews, group audit support, acquisition accounting, group restructuring projects, and transaction support, including completion accounts for company and asset disposals. Clients value his commercial mindset and pragmatic approach to solving complex financial and reporting challenges.

Personal:

Outside of work, James enjoys travelling and is always looking for an opportunity to explore somewhere new. He enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, discovering new restaurants, and keeping active. A keen runner, he regularly takes part in running events and enjoys setting himself new challenges. By his own admission, he does his bit to support the local physiotherapy profession along the way.
