Lubbock Fine is proud to announce Pancreatic Cancer UK (PCUK) as its chosen charity for 2024. PCUK supports those affected from pancreatic cancer, through research, support and proactive campaigning to raise funds and awareness.

Every year, employees at Lubbock Fine nominate a charity of their choosing, which is subsequently chosen by our staff members as our deserving charity to be supported from January through December. Over the years we have supported charities such as Brain Tumour Research, Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, FoodCycle, Doorstep Library and last year we supported Dementia UK.

This year, Lubbock Fine's charity community and its employees are actively engaging in fundraising and volunteering efforts to support Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the toughest cancer challenges. It’s tough to diagnose, treat, research and to survive. PCUK mission embraces these challenges and strives to ensure everyone with pancreatic cancer survive to live long and well.

Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, however, unfortunately this isn’t the case for pancreatic cancer. By 2026, it’s predicted that more people will die from pancreatic cancer than from breast cancer. Thanks to the great work at PCUK and their supporters, there is still hope.

PCUK offer support and guidance for those affected by pancreatic cancer. The team of specialist nurses are there to talk and act as a lifeline for some. PCUK efforts also go towards funding research breakthroughs as research into pancreatic cancer has been underfunded for decades. At PCUK, their strategy focuses on investing in the best researchers and tackling the key priority areas, so that the future for people with pancreatic cancer can change.

Molly Norris from our Charity Committee adds: “Lubbock Fine are delighted to be continuing our initiative of our staff charity of the year. This year, we are committing our support to Pancreatic Cancer UK. Pancreatic Cancer UK provide a range of support to those grappling with pancreatic cancer i.e. through specialist nurses, research funding and a dedicated support line. We are looking forward to working alongside Pancreatic Cancer UK to help raise awareness and funds to support their research strategy.”

Amy Hannagan, Corporate Partnerships Manager from PCUK adds: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone at Lubbock Fine for choosing Pancreatic Cancer UK as your charity partner in 2024.  In coming together to raise vital funds and awareness, we can ensure that we can be here for everyone affected by the deadliest common cancer and can continue investing in world-class research. With Lubbock Fine’s support, we can take a step closer to making early diagnosis and better, more effective treatments a reality for future patients and their loved ones. Thank you for your support.”
