Profile:
Aidan Meade is a director in our tax department. He has over 25 years’ experience advising private clients, including having previously worked in a Big 4 firm for 16 years.
One of his particular specialities is providing tax advice to high net worth individuals, especially those who have interests in offshore trusts and/or companies. For such individuals his advice tends to revolve around the most tax efficient structures available to them and the tax implications when it comes to either creating or winding up offshore investment structures. This advice naturally also deals with any UK anti-avoidance rules that might apply in respect of distributions from such structures.
Aidan also advises on residence and domicile issues for individuals, the most tax efficient route for remittance planning, international tax planning and advice to wealthy individuals and families on how to mitigate Inheritance tax to ensure that the family wealth is maintained and passed down the generations without excessive exposure to tax liabilities.
Personal:
Aidan is not one to sit down during his private time. A keen sports spectator, he is also an active cyclist and is heavily involved with his local rugby team. His three children seem to have inherited his love of sports, each specialising in either rugby, netball or football. When not being active, Aiden enjoys listening to music and performing karaoke – which is something we will remember for the next staff away day!
