Lubbock Fine are proud to announce Beatson Cancer Charity as our chosen charity of the year for 2025. Based in Glasgow, Beatson Cancer Charity provides exceptional care and support to patients and their families navigating the challenges of cancer.

Every year, employees at Lubbock Fine nominate a charity close to their hearts, and the final choice is made collectively by our staff. From January through December, we dedicate ourselves to supporting a chosen organisation through fundraising efforts and awareness campaigns. Over the years, we’ve been privileged to support incredible causes such as Brain Tumour Research, Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, FoodCycle, Doorstep Library, Dementia UK and most recently, Pancreatic Cancer UK.

This year, Lubbock Fine's charity committee and its employees are actively engaging in fundraising and volunteering efforts to support Beatson Cancer Charity. This partnership holds a special significance for our firm, as it honours the memory of Lauren Brophy, a beloved former member of our Audit team who sadly passed away in 2024 after being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive sarcoma cancer in early 2023.

Beatson support cancer patients and their loved ones in a range of ways, including:

  • Providing well-being services and resources including therapies and care.
  • A befriending service that provides one-to-one telephone companionship from trained professionals.
  • Bereavement support for those who have tragically lost a loved one to cancer.
  • Raising grants and funding towards research, enhancing treatments and improved technologies.
  • Running a hub that provides a relaxing space for patients and their families to unwind

The charity also works closely with The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, Europe’s second-largest cancer hospital. Opened in 2008, this world-class facility provides non-surgical cancer care and creates a therapeutic environment designed to support patients’ well-being and recuperation.

Rebecca Bryant, Partner, adds: “I am delighted that the Lubbock Fine staff have selected Beatson Cancer Charity as the charity of the year. This partnership is especially meaningful as it honours the memory of our former colleague, Lauren Brophy. Their work in cancer care, research, and patient support makes a significant difference to many lives and we look forward to contributing to their ongoing efforts and supporting the important services they provide.”

Charlene Low, Regional Fundraising Manager from Beatson Cancer Charity adds: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Lubbock Fine for selecting Beatson Cancer Charity as your charity partner for 2025. Your generosity and commitment to supporting our work mean so much to us. By coming together to raise vital funds and awareness, you are helping us continue providing care and essential services to those affected by cancer. Partnerships like this also enable us to invest in research, offering hope for the future. We look forward to working together and achieving something truly meaningful for patients and their loved ones. Thank you for your incredible support."
