Lubbock Fine announces Dementia UK as its Charity of the Year 2023

This year, Lubbock Fine will be supporting Dementia UK as our Charity of the Year. Dementia UK is a specialist dementia nurse charity. Their expert Admiral Nurses provide life-changing support for families affected by all forms of dementia.

At Lubbock Fine, our much-valued tradition enables our staff to nominate a charity of their choice on a yearly basis, which then is voted to be our worthy cause to support from January through to December. Our past partners vary from Brain Tumour Research to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home to FoodCycle, and most recently, Doorstep Library.

This year, however, our charity team’s fundraising and volunteering efforts will support Dementia UK to help nurses empower people.

The Admiral Nurses work across hospitals, GP practices, local community centres and other settings, and the charity operates a national helpline and virtual clinics to offer clinical, emotional and practical support to help people live positively with dementia.

Dementia is a huge and growing health crisis. It’s currently the leading cause of death in the UK, and there are an estimated 944,000 people living with this devastating condition across the country – set to rise to over one million people by 2025.

A diagnosis of dementia doesn’t just impact an individual, it affects everyone around them. When people are struggling, Dementia UK helps them take back control, as well as giving family and friends the confidence to manage their loved one’s future with dementia. There is no cure for dementia, the support needed is available.

Dementia UK provide specialist dementia nurses who offer care and support to families impacted by dementia. We are pleased to be able to help Dementia UK this year”.
