The furlough scheme will come to end on 30 September 2021 as the Government begins to encourage businesses to return to normal. The scheme was originally extended to support many businesses survive the COVID-19 pandemic and retain their staff.

How much is the final claim worth?

For any claims made in August and September 2021, the Government will pay 60% of wages, which will be capped at a maximum of £1,875 for the employee’s furloughed hours.

When can the final claim be made?

The final claim for the furlough scheme must be submitted by 14 October 2021, with any amendments to be made by 28 October 2021.

Will there be further support measures?

Currently no further support measures have been announced for individuals and businesses. However in the upcoming Autumn Budget on 27 October 2021, we’ll learn more about the Government’s plans for the remaining financial year ahead and a proposed path to COVID-19 recovery.
