The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) introduced by the government is designed to support business operations that have been severely affected by Covid-19 pandemic. If you are unable to maintain the current workforce in these conditions, you can furlough employees and apply for a grant that covers 80% of their usual monthly wage costs, up to £2,500 a month.

The scheme started from 1 March 2020 and is now extended until the end of October. Those who created and started a PAYE payroll scheme on or before 19 March 2020 are eligible to claim. In addition to this, you must have enrolled for PAYE online and have a UK bank account.
